Well it had to happen sooner or later. Poppynet has closed it's doors and is retiring.

I'd like to personally thank all who contributed and posted on the forum, and especially all of the Admins over the years who stuck their necks on the line to try to keep the peace.

You may or may not be aware that the hosting company (123Reg) had a major brain fart last weekend and deleted 10s of thousands of web servers. Businesses, Livelihoods, everything gone. I personally have not lost anything from a money perspective, just have a handful of annoyed Poppies fans who cannot get their regular fix of news.

Spare a thought for all those small businesses across the UK who have been totally destroyed by this company and NEVER put any business their way.

Most companies (Including me) paid for a regular backup service hosted by 123Reg on different servers in-case of disaster, but even these were deleted. There have been lots of cheap shots at a lot of companies from the high and mighty quoting the fact that you should always backup. This is not the case here, it is just woeful negligence on behalf of 123Reg that has caused it.

I have offsite regular backups, but just don't have the stomach to rebuild the site and get it working again, so thought it would be a good time to call it a day.

Thanks once again for all your support over the years.

Joe
